Which Hair Removal & Reduction Treatments should I choose
When considering any form of hair removal treatment, patients are always encouraged to arrange for a consultation. Absolute Aesthetics specialises in three different types of hair removal techniques so it is important that the most appropriate procedure is suggested to treat the area.
Perhaps just as importantly, this consultation gives patients the opportunity to see the Clinic, meet the Clinician and to hear and understand more about the different types of hair removal procedures that are available.
It is essential that details of medical history are discussed and recorded as certain pre or existing conditions may preclude patients from certain treatments. Other factors such as the area to be treated, desired timescales and budget are also considered and discussed.
The Clinician will then put together a treatment plan for the patient outlining how many sessions are anticipated and the associated cost.
For safety reasons, patients who decide to have IPL or Laser for hair removal must have a patch test prior to commencing their treatment. This is important and is regardless of whether any IPL or laser treatment has been received previously as all machines are different. This patch test allows the Clinician to determine the highest setting for the machine in order to achieve optimum results but without burning the skin. The test is always performed on a small, discrete area and the area is then left for 24 hours to see whether there has been a negative reaction.
Although it is exceptionally uncommon to have a negative response to a patch test, it must be performed and patients are not allowed to proceed to treatment without having had one.
